Well-settled

I upgraded to the newest version and now I get this.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@companyrpg.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I can't access anything past the first page.  Also when I run the permissions checker in the updater it gives a long list with the wrong permissions but the permission fixer doesn't seem to work for some reason.  Ideas?

Hi,

If you open a support ticket with FTP details I'll step through the problem for you.

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hi,

I've taken off world-write permissions for the 'site' folder, and this is allowing it to work. You'll need to do it also for 'cms' and any other folders that contain PHP scripts that get executed directly by URL.

I've seen this before, I think it's a security thing - some Apache configurations refuse to allow PHP files from a world-writeable directory to run, as it knows someone else on the server might have put rogue scripts into that folder.
