No login or Zone Editor function

I seem to have a weird installation problem.

OCportal installs itself as usual.

1. Can't log in from the site page - have to manually navigate to Admin Zone to log in. (Internal Server Error)

2. Can't edit in Zone editor (Internal Server Error)

3. However, I can add a news article.

I re-installed - same problem - no login or zoneeditor.

Thanks,
Nick

Haven't figured this out yet.

I looked at the server logs - there is a continual "file does not exist" error.

So, could this be a permissions issue ?

The server seems to think the data base is fine, but my other thought was that I did not use the OCportal default "root" when setting up the data base. I created a db user, but surely if there was a db problem, then nothing would work ?

Anyone have any idea what I've done wrong ?

Nick

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
