do you have directadmin?

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Check with your hosting company to see what your root is. For example most will tend to use something like:

public_htm/www/yourdomain.com

whereas my one uses /www/www/mydomain.com

Without checking with your host it is impossible to say exactly what your server's configuration is but I suspect it's how you're entering that very first bit that is the problem.

Another point is that I have set my server to point ALL traffic at "www.domain.com", with a redirect. Your host may have done the same thing so you may need to add, or perhaps remove, "www"

Basically ask your host and paste whatever they say in the box :)

Regarding sql5, not sure. My own host has both but I notice during install OCP went straight for version 4. I didn't attempt to change it as I prefer version 4 anyway (saves me getting confusicated about prefixs and stuff)

I'd better clarify this topic :).

I helped LisaScerina79 install, and can confirm Sledge's "temporarily disable Javascript" fix works.
There is a specific bug happening here, that only happens on servers with support for FTP over SSL, and only in the Javascript check.
We'll fix that in RC4.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
