I would like to import my simple machines forum (1.1.9). A couple of questions before I attempt it.

It has a LOT of mods added to it as well as Tinyportal, Gallery2, Flashchat and Zcommunity integrated with it. Do I have to uninstall everything and bring it back basics before attempting to import?

Do you need more info to answer? What I am most concerned with importing is members and forum posts. I would like to import their gallery's as well but I can figure that out later.

Thanks in advance for the help :)

I did it! The importer rocks, ocPortal rocks! It was simple. Everything went smooth except importing attachments, that did not work.

Hi,

What SMF version were you importing, and what happened to stop attachments working?
I'm wondering if it was an issue just ocPortal not copying across the files right, a Comcode issue, or perhaps a database issue.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

SMF version 1.1.9 I should have saved the error messages but I didn't. I have since re arranged the forums and deleted topics that are not relevant to the new site. If I try importing attachments again so I can get the errors for you will that matter much?

I was just going to leave it be but as I'm going through the forums it would be nice if the attachments were with the post.

I know some of them likely did not work because I have Gallery2 integrated with the old forum and some pictures were posted from the Gallery….option when posting to pull pictures from the gallery. But regularly attached pictures and links did not not work ether.

Thanks for the reply

I'm not sure to be honest.
So do you see the attachments in OCF, but you get like broken image or something on them? If so try opening up the broken image into a new browser window/tab and see what it says.

I don't see anything at all….nothing at all shows for the pictures. And links are not parsed.
