I am having trouble importing subscribers to the newsletter section, I have viewed the already existing format for the newsletter subscribers and made adjustments to my file, however  I am still unable to import them.

Is that all that is required when importing a email address in the 11 fields?

E-mail address | forename(s) | Surname | Name | Subscriber ID | Unsubscribe-link key | Password hash | Salt | Language | Confirm code | Join date

The only fields I have filled in are the email fields.

it states "You have imported new 0 e-mail addresses, processing 4,658 records into the chosen newsletter"

Hi, happy to help, especially if a bug, but will need more info. A little recorded video (Jing) would help a lot. Should be very easy, only really need e-mail, forename, surname, and it should be pretty intelligent at recognising them (it supports synonyms when it reads the header IIRC).

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks. Looks to me like the addresses were already there, and it is saying it just refreshed the records. Could that be the case?

I deleted them and just imported them again, said the same thing 0 new email addresses imported. It shows them as imported.

Is there somewhere else besides newsletter_subscribe that they might be located in the database

No matter what I do, the imported subscribers will not show as subscribers.

They are showing in the database but they are not showing in the view subscribers or when I go to send out to the subscribers.

When I look at _newsletter in the database I see the only subscribers that are showing in the view subscribers.

For some reason they are not importing into _newsletter table in the database.

The import is not importing to the global subscription when chosen.

Is there another field that might needed to be included?

You've found a bug. I'm pretty sure if you open up adminzone/pages/modules/admin_newsletter.php and change if (!is_null($test)) to if (is_null($test)) it will fix it.

My Internet connection is awful tonight so it's a bit difficult for me to upload the fixed file, hopefully it won't be too hard for you to do manually.
