Hello, I'm having a problem with the image order in my gallery. I did the file name ordering as suggested in the documentation, IMG01.jpg, IMG02.jpg, IMG03.jpg, etc. I then compressed the images into a zip file and uploaded the zip file to the gallery using the ocPortal upload screen. The images all upload with no problem, however, the image I wanted to be appear first is last, for example, image IMG31.jpg is the first image in the gallery and I wanted IMG01.jpg to be the first. When I do a slide show, it's backwards, with the last image (IMG31.jpg) starting the slide show and having to work backwards (prev image).

is there a setting I'm missing or am I doing something incorrectly?

thanks,

Jim

Try putting "&sort=add_date ASC" in the URL, then updating links to the gallery accordingly. To put that into a page-link, append ":sort=add_date ASC".

Chris, thanks for the quick reply, but I'm rather new at ocPortal, and I'm not sure what you're advising me to do. Which URL? Also, not sure what you mean by "into a page-link, append"?

I forgot to mention this is v8 only. By URL, I mean the URL for the gallery where you see the incorrect ordering. However also on v8 there should be an orderer dropdown on there that does the same thing.

I'm not running V8, I read the  notes that suggested not upgrading V8 to a live site so I haven't done it. Will this work for V7?

If I remember correctly it won't. But v8-final should definitely be out in the next few days.

Chris, I finally have v8 running, now I just have one more question. Where can I change the default image order. Right now when I open a gallery, the image order (in the drop down box) defaults to "newest". I'd like to change mine so it defaults to "filename". thanks, Jim

You'd need to edit the source code for now, or follow my advice above with how you link to the galleries, as we haven't made these defaults options yet (0000094: 'max' options - ocPortal feature tracker).

site/pages/modules/galleries.php change

Code

$sort=get_param('sort','add_date DESC');
to

Code

$sort=get_param('sort','url ASC');
