Already built in, Harry.

Go to >> Admin Zone >> Setup >> Configuration >> Site Options >> Advanced >> then put a tick in the box of "Allow audio as videos"

When you upload an mp3 in your Gallery it will give you the option to play the mp3 via WMP (Windows) or QT (Firefox).

I think that is what you're after.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

The file is there, but no play options. Maby this is a fault in Opera.

Harry,

Take a look at this page on my site. Half way down there is an 'independent' media player inserted. Perhaps this is what you would like to achieve?

If it is, take a trip to the Anarchy Media Player website, download the script, and adapt it for your own page.

If you go this route and need some pointers, I am more than willing to help. Just PT or email me.

Good luck.

Hi Harry,

You may also make attachments that are mp3's. Just choose the file when you post news, etc.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
