Using the block button choose the side_stored_menu block. Alternatively change 'main_content' in your code to something else (it's the codename for the menu, you can choose anything as long as it is unique).

Ironically, there's also an unrelated block named main_content, which may be what is confusing you. I never realised! I'll see if we can make things less confusing.

Dear Chris Graham,

Thank you for answer.

By the way, like I have edited my previous message above, I want to say

All tutorials are written not in simple way for simple user. I really can't understand. Your OCPortal system is very clever and different from other all systems and this isn't easy to understand

We need more simple tutorials what to and where to do with images, not necessarily video tutorial.

For instance I can't manage my picture to be aligned in text with spaces in nice way, like this (accidentally I suceeded one page),

but I can't anymore to do it with other page, like this. There are no posibilities to do with Wysiwyg editor. If I try to disable editor, I get HTML codes on the page. The whole hour I sit on it and can't do

You need to change your character set. It's currently on Western European (iso-8859-1). It needs to be on something like utf-8.

Put 'charset' into the admin zone search and change the language string it finds to 'utf-8'.

Regarding documentation, to be completely honest there's no way ocProducts can afford to sponsor this level of detail. There could be 100's of tasks to document, each taking half a day of work to do well, and the salary to pay for that becomes enormous. This is why we need people to contribute to the community documentation. Even expensive commercial software does a bad job at clear documentation, which is why people often write/publish/buy books.

I use UTF-8 .

I don't have some problems with characters set anymore like in the beginning of my work

I asked about configuring an image in text. In the first link the image is put and formated correctly
in this way:

Code

hspace="10" vspace="10"
, in second link - bad position, I am trying the same, but….

Wisywig editor don't have an option to add hspace and vspace, and access to HTML isn't easy, because sometimes making this by disabling editor, I get HTML codes on front of page

Hi,

Have you tried using a 'Left inline' attachment? If you put that before the text the text should then wrap around it.

Consider building your own CSS properties to take care of your image displays and add it to your 'custom' global.css. Something like:

Code

.leftimg {
   float: left;
   margin-right: 20px;
   margin-bottom: 6px;
   }

.leftimg_border {
   float: left;
   margin-right: 20px;
   margin-bottom: 6px;
   border: 1px solid #869aa7;
   padding: 2px;
   }

So using either of those as class="......" when you post your image link it should display exactly the same on any page you use the property.

For example. I looked at your page in Firebug and found the HTML that referred to your image and its placement:

Then I edited that line in Firebug (the green highlight at the bottom) adding the properties from the .leftimg_border code that I posted above, including it as an in-line CSS style, and I was able to change it to this:

Is this what you are trying to achieve?

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Oh my God !!!

  1. Why you don't see Lithuanian right characters? I use UTF-8, what else there isn't good?
  2. Could you say where in FTP I could find global.css ? in Site or Pages? Maybe Themes?

It might help if you could use something like http://www.techsmith.com/jing/ to record a quick screencast of what you're trying. Worked nicely when I tried…

Regarding utf-8, I think you have your site still set as English, so non-logged in people like me see it in the English language pack which is still iso-8859-1. In /config_editor.php change EN to LT.

I changed this lines:

You need to change the language in the /config_editor.php script. Just changing the template won't tell ocPortal what language to use, it'll just tell the browser what to think the language is.

themes/default/css/global.css

Firebug is just an experimentation tool, it can't save anything. You need to edit within ocPortal. Did you try what I showed in my video? It should be really straight-forward. There's no need to manually upload images or hand-edit any CSS or HTML.
