How many of you would like this in the gallery?

Right now how ever it is frustrating me. Here is the problem. If i have Flow mode interface checked in the gallery options the page that shows the images looks all nice and neat and shows the images the way I want but for some of my members do to the fact it shows all the images and one of my galleries has over 800 images in it. Some people can not view it as it either goes to slow for them or crashes the pc. I then tried to uncheck Flow mode interface and it displays all ugly and what not and has images going down the center and only 1 per row. I do not mind them being centered but I want them to show up how they were when Flow mode interface was checked. At the moment I am unable to locate the template that creates that page to make it more like the other one. Any way my question is how many of you would like it the way I want it because maybe Chris can include it in the next version. I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I am still 'hacking' away at the problem, editing most of the templates that I think are connected to this display, however, a generic change in one template affects ALL the displays (as it would), and since I am satisfied with how the 'MP3', or music section is displaying, I am a bit loathe to change things until I can find the one template that will do it for the image gallery and not affect that particular display. You can view it at Music Room to see what I mean. Changing the display for the gallery images affects the display for the images I have in this section. I'll keep on looking! Update: The Music Room is now displaying in 3-column rows (see the posts below to follow the recommendations). Happy turkey!!

If you have it on the edit of that file will not do any thing. From what I have seen you can remove all the content of one template and not see any change except on that page but some time not at all. Actually I have several empty templates. I run Otaku Play Ground and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Changed the bits you recommended, but got zilch when I refreshed. Then I remembered that, with a lot of help from you guys, I had also changed GALLERY_FLOW_ENTRY to accommodate how I was displaying my 'Music' gallery pics. So I added the '33%' bit to that as well, and voilá, the display is very much as I, and Amy, want it. Of course, the inevitable happened and my 'Music' display got zapped. No probs - an hour or so later I'd re-done all the graphics for that section and it also displays as a 3-column display. More importantly, all the displays are cross-browser compat and also display without breaking anything on lower resolution monitors. I'll mark this down as a success!!
Take my advice. I'm not using it!

I understand that they have to be in the galery theme folder, but there are no template files. Actually, there are no template files in any custom theme folder in my website |

However, ocPortal handles all this automatically if you use the template editor. I suspect the problem here would be that you're manually editing templates, but not manually editing the template cache (which needs doing, as the ocPortal cache doesn't know these behind-the-scenes file-changes are happening). Sorry to bump this, but I thought it would be nice to keep it all in the same thread. 3 little questions. Thumbnails. When flow is off, the thumbnails are dulled. Flow on, thumbnails have their original bright colour. How can I get bright thumbnails with the flow option off? Thumbnails per page. Choice is between 1, 3, 5, 10 and 25. When you have 3 per row, the last row isn't complete.
Sorting. When a pic is added, its thumbnail is displayed first, at the top of the list. Got nothing against that, but then when you click the first thumbnail to display the real pic, the "next" link is dead and you must click on "previous" to see the next image. It's perfectly logical if you know this first pic is in fact the last one, but users will find this misleading. How do I get the last pics to go at the end of the list? Or have the "next" link take me to the next picture,/ or a choice to display oldest or most recent first (like in the catalogs),/ or better still how could i modify the order of the pics and have them where I want in the list? |

Removing fadeThis is a effect whereby the image comes into focus when the mouse goes over it.To remove the effect from ocPortal, change the IMG_THUMB template: Code
{$JAVASCRIPT_INCLUDE,javascript_thumbnails}
Thumbnails per pageThat's a very good point.Change line 697 of site/pages/modules/galleries.php from: Code
$_selectors=array(1,3,5,10,25);
Code
$_selectors=array(1,3,6,12,30);
Code
$max=either_param_integer('max',5);
Code
$max=either_param_integer('max',12);
We'll make this change official in the next patch release. SortingAgain, very good point, and we'll make the following fix official in the next patch release also.In the GALLERY_NAV template, switch where it says {NEXT_LINK*} with where it says {PREVIOUS_LINK*}. Leave everything else unchanged. If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation.
