I would like to change the wording of some pages and I haven't been able to figure it out. For example, in the staff area it says if your interested in being staff ask, I would like to remove that. Also where it says real name, i want to change that to their in game name.

I also want to add some stuff where it says login or register above the modules on the home page.

Hi,

Different things are set in different places, depending on what kind of thing you're changing. For the three examples you've given…

1) The text at the top of the staff page is set via a config option. I can't remember off-hand where it is but it shouldn't be hard to find.

2) 'Real name' is a language string. Go to the style section of the Admin Zone, then Languages. You want to get through to editing the 'staff' language file, and the string value may be changed in there.

3) The front page is a Comcode page, meaning it's basically text/HTML. When logged in you should see an edit link underneath it.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I have clicked the edit link. But all it allows me to do is add code blocks. I wish to edit the code block that has the login or register saying. I can't find it.

This is within a language string.
