Hi,

You'll need to use the main_forum_news block instead.

Code

[block forum="My News Forum"]main_forum_news[/block]

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hi Chris,

I noticed this was posted a long time ago, but I just did a clean install of ocp 4.0.3, and that does not seem to work.

I lost my old server, and the backups will not load on the new server, but if memory serves, the comcode I used was something like this:

Code

[block="0" fallback_full="4" falback_archive="6" param="News"]main_forum_news[/block]
That doesn't pass the forum news to the front page, either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'd suggest using the "Add block" button. It'll basically write the code for you :).

Thanks, Chris. As usual, I was trying to find the difficult solution. :lol:

Will adding

Code

block="0" fallback_full="4" falback_archive="6"
limite the number of articles sent to the front page?

That (if it wasn't missing an 'l' in falback_archie) would work for the main_news block, but for the main_forum_news block you can only control the number with the 'param' parameter. In this case it's setting that to zero.
