Site display 5 columns per row - but then they display strangly at the column end and such

I know this topic has been discussed several times. I changed the GALLERY_ENTRY_WRAP.tpl to show the line:

< …style="float: left; width: 20%; text-align: center">

as I had found in a Post #28346 by amichan on 31 January 2007, 2:59 PM (in topic "How many of you would like this in the gallery?")

This works to let me display 5 columns per row - but then they display strangly at the column end . My images are not uniform in shape, some landscape and some in portrait format. You can see 2 screenshot examples of how the images "line up" somewhat disorderly at :

Do I need to place a maximum height on the thumnails perhaps? How do I tidy up the thumbnail display?

I finally tracked down what and where I need to go to fix my alignment problem on the thumbnail pages, of course it was a CSS issue.

In the Style section I edited CSS and choose the 'galleries.css', inside choose '.gallery_media_expose' then since my background is black I added a black background of a specified dimension. My thumnails are defined with a maximum of 136px wide so I added the following to the CSS:

background-color: black;
background-position:top left;
height:200px;
width:146px;

That solves that for now.
