Hi All,

I have configured my site to require Admin validation before an uploaded download is visible to stop 'Junk' uploads gracing the pages of my site. This creates it's own set of problems;

The user is unable to edit/check their upload
The user is unsure if the upload has been successful which prompts then to upload it again.

From a previous discussion I am aware that it is not possible to invoke the appropriate permissions for a user to view/edit their own upload before it has been validated but I'm wondering if sending them a 'Stock' email might put them at ease.

To this end, is it possible to trigger the dispatch of a standard message to the uploader when the upload process is completed, maybe as part of the process of the 'Requires Validation' message I receive?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

TQ

Very roughly…

sources/aed_module.php has this line:

Code

$description->attach(paragraph(do_lang_tempcode('SUBMIT_UNVALIDATED')));

After it put:

Code

if (!is_guest())
{
require_code('mail');
mail_wrap('Upload update','Yo it\'s there but not validated',array($GLOBALS['FORUM_DRIVER']->get_member_email_address(get_member())));
}

Thank you Chris, works like a charm as you would expect.

Forever asking for more, would it possible to replace the Subject & Body with entries from, say, the unvalidated.ini?

Thanks again

yeah

E.g. change 'Upload update'
to do_lang('FANCY_NEW_STRING')

And put FANCY_NEW_STRING=Upload update

in lang_custom/EN/unvalidated.ini

Thanks Chris, that worked straight off the bat.

I apologise for the delay in thanking you but I've been trying to work out (without asking you yet again) how to include a couple of things in the language file entries.

Although the journey has exposed me to dozens more pages with your name on them I am no further forward than I was when I started.

I'm not going to ask right now but I may be back for more help.

Thanks again.
