I have looked for a setting or way to force linear view of topics for a more mainstream forum look, however every thread I access on my site defaults to the threaded view which is undesired. How do I set linear view by default?

Thanks.

Did you set all your forums to threaded view? It's a per-forum setting.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

This is a fresh install, i have set nothing spesific to forums manualy and can not find an option to set threaded or none threaded. I have gone to forum edit in admin zone, as well as clicked the edit buttons on the fourms themeselves. I dont see an option anywhere except when im viewing a thread and have a button to change the view there. Even if i change the view, it reverts the moment i refresh the page.

EDIT: After more testing i found out it was only just 1 fourm in that format. I deleted it and recreated it, the problem is now gone.

Under Adminzone / Structure / Forums / Edit Forum Once editing a forum expand the "Advanced" tab.  It's the last option in that set.  Or you can edit the forum from the forumview if logged in.  Still under "Advanced" As Chris said it is a per forum setting so you will have to edit each of your forums that you want to default to that view.
