Hi,

I'd like to replace the zone menu with a navigation that is independent of zones and has (maybe multi-level) pulldowns as well. I just found exactly the menu I was looking for on one of the ocp portfolio sites, the Warsash Assoc. site. Is that kind of navigation covered by any tutorial/video/example code or is it custom made for that site?

(I could use a slight hint as well, if I should go and get a quotation for having it done.)

Thx,
Peter

I think the add block button could create the Comcode needed. The 'dropdown' menu type is built in although probably it was rethemed a bit for that WA site.
It's important that the menu you choose has at least two levels.

I made a few tests with the dropdown menu type. I had to do them in a side panel because I couldn't figure out how to replace the zone menu yet. And my first dropdown menu doesn't drop down at all, but is fully expanded right away. Is there a documentation of the menu types, the tutorial mentions all menu types, but does not state whether there are additional parameters to use in the block, like initial_status="closed" or something.

Can a navigation like it's on the WA site be done with managed menus at all?

Ok, got it. Thank you very much, I'm very proud of myself now.  :$

Once I had figured out that the dropdown zone menu replacement is a single menu instead of multiple menus placed side by side, it was quite straightforward.

What it was not able to figure out so far (even with firebug) is where in global.css a different font color/weight/alignment for the dropped down entries go. I was able to change the background colour of those entries and horizontal padding (resulting in changed spacing between the entry itself and the little arrow thingy), but text formatting/aligning etc. is still the same as the menu heading (which should remain bold and black).

And while we are in global.css: I could not find any directive for normal text paragraphs, which I think should be p. I'd like to add a "text-indent:" and a "margin-bottom:" to normal paragraphs of text. Primarily on static comcode pages, but wouldn't do any harm in postings as well.

Final hints would be highly appreciated.  :'(

(Sorry for posting those nagging newbie questions, but I think my learning curve is slowly picking up speed.)
