Well-settled

Everytime I do a search in my admin zone on anything (it seems) related to points I get this message:

A language entry is missing: HITS_ALLOCATED

and I don't know how to fix it?

-I'm almost positive it's not caused by a template change
-I did a file integrity scan and got :

sources_custom/facebook/jsonwrapper/JSON/JSON.php
sources_custom/facebook/jsonwrapper/JSON/LICENSE
sources_custom/facebook/facebook.php
sources_custom/users.php
sources_custom/points.php
sources_custom/ocf_members.php
sources_custom/users_active_actions.php
sources_custom/activities_submission.php

and all these showed up since I added the facebook support

I'm guessing it has something to do with the banners?

Wahoo!
I think I actually figured something out on my own

The banners.ini was missing from lang> EN
apparently when I upgraded my site to 8.0.1

I added it from the manual installer and the
"A language entry is missing: HITS_ALLOCATED"
message has gone away

Small bug there, the points-store is using a banners language string to name a config option even when banners might not be installed. That's usually fine because the options de-activates itself, but the admin search is looking a bit too deep.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
