Trouble with Galleries

Hi I upgraded from 2.6.1 to 3.0.10 about a month ago. Since the upgrade only Administrators have been able to add pictures, video, news, etc. Today I decided to play with the permissions and see if I could get it working. I went into the permissions tree editor, and set module:Galleries in the the Zone:membersonly to administrator/moderator for all usergroups. However, only administrator are still the only one able to add photos.

Anyone have a suggestions?

One other issue since the upgrade: When I click on a member's name rather than being routed to their profile page, I am routed to the chat lobby for that user. The only way I can get to their profile page is to manually type the address (/site/index.php?page=members&type=view&id=39) in the address bar.

Thanks for any assistance in advance.

1) The permission scheme changed substantially in version 3. The CMS features (adding, editing, deleting) are no longer in the view modules, but in the CMS zone. Thus you need to give access to the CMS zone :).

2) There was a bug in the upgrader that set a config option to the incorrect default value. Look in your chat options (under the feature configuration page of the configuration) for an option to change.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks for the help here. Everything is working perfectly.

I've been using ocPortal on a family & friends site I been running since April, and I'm happy to report this minor issue is the only problem I've encountered. I'm pretty much convinced to convert my commercial/public site over. I just need to decide whether to convert it or start fresh and clean.

Thanks again
