I have a freash install and need some help

I so I have clean install and all I did so far is run setup wizard and create a profile for myself.
on my site where all the menus are down the sides.. I have the Admin box (Account, My Profile, My points,Admin zone, Logout)  It is set on the left on the very bottom. I really want it on the top right.

Can I run the set up wizard as many times as I want to get this right? I have messed my site up 3 times now and I think my brother is getting tired of re-doing it for me. O_o

Thanks

Use the Zone Editor to manage the placement of blocks.

If you are logged in as an admin, your should have links for "Edit in zone editor" beneath each column.

Yes I am admin, Yes I see [ edit in zone editor ]
Next I click Edit for the left pannel
I see side_personal_stats block (click to edit)

There is no choice in the edit to move this block up or down.

I understand a bit of html from dreamweaver class in college (long ago) so i am wondering is disabled the wysiwyg can i select text for the block and move it to the top,, of will I be calling my brother whinning about how i ruined my site again poking around… (LOL he'd just love that)

Thank you

Judy,

Do this …
  • disable the WYSIWYG editor, and 'discard' instead of 'convert'
  • now, CTRL-X the whole 'side_personal_stats' line where it currently appears (I think you said 'bottom/left')
  • find in the right panel where you would like it to appear
  • place your cursor at the spot it should appear (preferably on a new line) and CTRL-V
  • 'SAVE' by clicking on the button at the bottom of the page

You are done …

1. Can you run the setup wizard again?
2. or will it ruin your site?
1. Yes.
2. Depends!

You shouldn't need to run the setup wizard again as just about everything you need to edit has already been installed. However, if you missed (or skipped) some core functionality, e.g. you chose not to use the built-in OCF forum at initial installation, it may be just as well to run it again, taking time to read each section before making your decision(s). Especially as you say you haven't populated your site as yet!

Good luck.
