Hey guys,

I've been reading and doing some searching on the forums for using Match-key. I'm wanting to create an alternate page for when I want to (temporarily) disable registrations and Match-key seems to be a good way to do this.

I'm not sure how to write the match-key. This is what I have,'_WILD:join:type=misc', and it works, but it shows the message on the login page. This is ok, but I would prefer it to have a page of it's own. I'm guessing I need some sort of redirect?

I assume my match-key will catch the "join attempt" from any page?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve! The join page is located in the welcome zone and clicking the join link from any zone will take you there. Having said that, you might find it easier to just add a redirect whenever you'd like to disable registrations:

1) Create a comcode page (prolly best to keep it in the welcome zone) to redirect to:

2) Add your redirect when required (Admin Zone Structure Redirects):

"no violence, no hate, no pain, no enemies
just peace, unity, tolerance and love" - The Beloved

P.S. you may want to add an underscore to the beginning of your disable page to prevent it from showing up in the sitemap. Example:

_join_disable_page

"no violence, no hate, no pain, no enemies
just peace, unity, tolerance and love" - The Beloved

Thanks for the quick schooling!    Using a redirect was much easier and more flexible.

I think having options in the settings to turn off registrations and logins, just like putting the site into maintenance mode, would be a useful feature.

Thanks again, for your help!

Steve
