Hey guys
I found this cms on opensourcecms, and they gave high reviews so I decided to try it out, and after finally getting it to install all was looking well until I came across this error message while running the after-installation setup wizard (after step 6):

The website software has detected what may be a hacking attempt. Please do not be alarmed, and unless you are really trying to hack the website, nobody will question you. Please do not click refresh though or you could be automatically banned. If you got here via a link, please inform the link maintainer of the problem.

Now considering I just installed this and i'm the only one who knows about it i'm guessing it's not a hacking attempt (on my part) :P

I went into the logs and found the error says this:
A POST request by an authenticated member was made from an external website (site url here); this has been blocked as it represents a security threat (it is likely a malicious site tricked a member to fill in a form which directs privileged actions towards this site).

Has anyone else run into this? or know how to fix it? Because it won't let me change the name of my site to something other than (unnamed) :'(

And I have no idea if anyone else has had this problem because I couldn't find a search function in these forums. If this has been brought up I do apologize :)

I'm sure you're not hacking your own site, don't worry! I don't know the answer, but there's a search box at the top of every forum screen, in the middle column.

And is changing your site's name the only thing you can't do?

If I've helped you, please click 'points' and show your appreciation!

Thanks for the help, guys I got it figured out thanks to elgg_noob!  In the installation options for the url path I had a space where it should have had %20.  I fixed it and it started working!

Again thanks for the help!

We'll make ocPortal less fussy about this in the next patch release.

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks for also posting your results here. Someone else might come up with the same problem and can find the results or something similar to fix it (before the next patch that is  )
