This error relates to a database change that occured between version 2.5 and version 3.0. From the message I see that it is coming from the Admin Centre. In order to perform an upgrade, you need to run the force_upgrade.php script as indicated in the documentation and the procedure given out in our news posts. This script performs databases, and it also indicates old files that need to be deleted (the admincentre is now the adminzone, so this is something that would have been indicated as being necessary to delete).

Finding error in upgrading between 2.5 and 3.0

The force upgrade process gave an error message

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare i_force_refresh() (previously declared in /home/avbpnet/public_html/ocp/sources/zones.php:491) in /home/avbpnet/public_html/ocp/sources/zones.php(615) : eval()'d code on line 14

thanks again

Hi Steve,

From what I can tell, this sequence of events has happened:
  • you ran force_upgrade.php (perhaps previously getting some other error)
  • since then, you went to the old admincentre
  • you re-ran force_upgrade.php, getting this new error
Basically visiting the old admincentre partially reverted the upgrade, allowing old data to misdirect the continuation of the upgrade.

What I'd suggest is you try deleting the admincentre, membersonly, membercentre, seedy directories (make sure you've backed up any customised files in there, and your Comcode pages), and then trying force_upgrade.php again.

Tried that!

Got this error again

ocPortal upgrader

This tool will empty ocPortal caches and perform any upgrades that code files on the site require.

Cleared some caches

I'm out of ideas unfortunately. If you'd like to, you can contact us with FTP access details and I'll try and get it sorted for you tomorrow for free. I'd like to get to the bottom of this, and to solve your problem (it must be irritating having your site stuck like this).

Sorting failed upgrade

Very kind of you Chris, to offer to sort the site out.

I have been thinking of starting again anyway, so I am opening up on the free myocp service. I think this will suit the users better, and I really like the automatic uppgrades!
