I am trying to add code for Google ads on my site and it doesn't translate, all I end up with is the code.

I am sure there is a simple reason why and I am missing it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ryan

?

If not, give it a try, should fix you up.

I think that you either need to turn off the WYSIWYG editor (when the answers above will work) or to paste the code into the HTML source. You can reach the HTML source via the toggle source button in the top-left of the editor.

Personally I would rarely put Google ads direct into a Comcode page. I'd either:
  • put them HTML direct into a template (e.g. GLOBAL)
  • or I'd paste it into the special place we have in the configuration to make them appear in the top-right (where ocPortal's default banner rotation code goes). I think we call that option "Money-ad code". It's a place where you can paste code to override ocPortal's own banner rotation.

It's the oddest thing (to me anyway) I went back to my site the other day and the adds were there. It was alomst like it just took a while to update or something.

Chris,
Can you give me more info about what you said about adding the script to the global template. I would like to have the ads appear at the bottom of all of the pages. Where do I need to add it at?

I think Google ads do behave like this sometimes. Something about Google scanning your site first.

I'm afraid I can't get into a great amount of detail outside a commercial support package, but if you go to: Admin Zone, Style section, Themes icon, Click 'Edit templates', Choose 'GLOBAL.tpl', you can edit this as HTML. As long as you have a basic understanding of HTML you should be able to get an add into this.
