General Chat link

Hi guys,

Is it normal for the General Chat room link to open up a new window, the Chat lobby opens in the same window.

Yes it does.

There are probably many esoteric reasons for this behaviour, but to my simple mind the reasoning is that, each time an entry is made in the chat room that page steals focus from whatever you're viewing at the time.

Irritating if you want to continue surfing the site, BUT, if you don't want that to happen - don't join the chat room! Simple, really.

Horses for courses. Some of my visitors swear by it; others absolutely hate it. For the latter, my advice is simply what I said earlier, "Don't join the Chat room."
