Hmm I am wondering how to get the Gallery to be the first thing that comes up when you go to ocportal.
The reason for this is I have a friend who still wants Mkportal as the portal but wants to use ocPortal as the gallery.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Probably the best way to do this is to setup page redirects (Admin Zone, Structure section, Redirects icon) so redirecting from:
  • Welcome zone
  • start page
to:
  • Site zone
  • galleries page
as 'Transparent'.

and also:
redirecting from:
  • Site zone
  • start page
to:
  • Site zone
  • galleries page
as 'Transparent'.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

All basic ocPortal stuff, Amy. The only difference is 'building' the individual graphics for each vid upload. Once that is done, ocPortal displays it as the chosen image, even spacing it 3-abreast in the space allocated - something you initially asked for if I remember correctly … !?!

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

None. Free for use by anybody. Not even a credit required.

The way I see it is that anybody is 'capable' of producing something similar. The problem is usually the time required to do so, and if I have something that somebody else wants, then they are welcome to go right ahead and use it.

That might sound naive, but until the day I decide that I need to make a living from this medium, that is how it will remain.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!
