Gallery thumnail display gets reset

I don't recall having see this issue mentioned in the Forums. The gallery thumnail display gives an option as to how many images to display per page so if I choose a perfered number of images and then select an image to view on the gallery view page and when finished 1 want to go back to the thumnails page I basically have 2 choices as to how to get there. The one method is to choose the text above the picture which in my case says

You are viewing gallery entry 2 of 41.
Show more from 'gallery name'.

Clicking on the gallery name link brings me back to the gallery thumnails and I still have the same selected number of thumnails per page I had when I left. So the process goes on fine.

But if I select the other method, the one where I can go way back to the root gallery at the top of the page (forgot what tht method is called), if I select the Gallery in which I am currently viewing images, it takes me back to that gallery but now the number of thumbnails per page has been reset to the default value as though I had not made a thumbnail per page selection before. Is this anything that can (should) be fixed or is it by design?

Hi,

This one is kind of by design. The breadcrumbs tend to be more static than other links.

Do you consider it a problem, or were you just mentioning it in case you thought it might be a bug :)?

I really just ran into it by accident and I don't think it bothers me.

I was editing image by image and going back and forth between thumbnails and full image view as a visitor/member would when I noticed the image per page would always be as I selected, which was to show all the images. I was thinking this is really cool, "I don't have to reset this each time …Cool!!"

Then one or two times I was doing my back and forth thing and I saw the thumbnails were being reset to the default number of 18 (I'm still trying to find out where to reset that …but I digress - previous post!) . I couldn't figure out what was different 'till I noticed I would occasionally hit the other (breadcrumbs) link.

I said to myself, "So that's was I get different results with the thumbnail per page selection." Then I wondered if it was supposed to be that way out of the box?

It really doesn't bother me as I think it is a different way to go back and find your way further back than just the last page you were at or the current gallery are browsing but it did catch my attention as I am getting to the 'fine tuning' stage of my sites development.

It's not like putting the delete and enter buttons right next to each other!
