This may be the default behavior.  I've never used the watermarking feature before.  I created a gallery for my wife's paintings, and while doing so placed a watermark pic in each corner and finished creating the gallery.  Then I did a Mass Add To Gallery and checked the watermark checkbox.  Well it worked, but my wife decided she only wanted a watermark in the top left corner.  I click on "Edit This Gallery" and checked the NA checkbox for the other three corners and clicked "Save."  However all the painting still have watermarks in each corner.  Does it only work for newly added entries and will I have to delete all the ones in the gallery and reupload?

No need to apologize Chris.  As they say, "It is what it is."  I've never used the feature before and wasn't sure how it worked.  Didn't find anything in the documentation about it either.  We're pretty new to the whole lot as far as the gallery module goes.  Me being blind never had a use for it till now, and my wife sits at a PC all day at work and she says the last thing she wants to do in the evening after getting home is to sit down at one.  Don't know where I came up with the impression that watermarking only appeared if someone tried to print one of your images.  Now that I know how it works it isn't a problem whatsoever.

Also note, that if your pictures have any transparency, adding the watermark will remove the transparency layer.  I learned this the hard way.  :$

Ah, I wasn't aware of this. We can/will fix that. sources/galleries2.php:

Code

   // Save
   if ($ext=='png') imagepng($source,$file_path);
   elseif (($ext=='jpg') || ($ext=='jpeg')) imagejpeg($source,$file_path);
   elseif ((function_exists('imagegif')) && ($ext=='gif')) imagegif($source,$file_path);
to:

Code

   // Save
   imagealphablending($source,false);
   if (function_exists('imagesavealpha')) imagesavealpha($source,true);
   if ($ext=='png') imagepng($source,$file_path);
   elseif (($ext=='jpg') || ($ext=='jpeg')) imagejpeg($source,$file_path);
   elseif ((function_exists('imagegif')) && ($ext=='gif')) imagegif($source,$file_path);
(I just added a couple of lines)

Actually I've been doing quite a bit of work on our site over the past few weeks, and I've been making notes on areas where I get a bit stuck on.  My plans are to compile it in to a readable group of documents and submit it to the community user documentation area.
I've wanted to do this for some time now.  However, between battling the dreaded C the past couple of years and then going through chemo for six months, I'm just now back on top to where I feel I can acomplish a few things I've been wanting to get done.

And thanks Russ for the tip on transparency.  I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

Doesn't look like it kept the transparent layer.  It is a PNG file

Ah, rats. Want to email the watermark and test image to chris@ocportal.com for me to try?

Also, if you look at php-info, what PHP version and what GD version? Older GD and PHP versions both cannot do this.
