Well-settled

Thanks again for taking a question. In preface, I did as thorough a search as possible but couldn't find an answer (or at least one I understood)

The question is…when a new article is published, the entirety of the article is read out on the start page. I tried adjusting some block settings with no change. How is it set so that when a new article is published, only a few lines are published on the start page, with the remainder of the article linked?

Thanks in advance

Highspeedlane,

I don't use the News much but if I'm not mistaken use the News Summery to get the few lines that you want. Put the rest of the Article in the other block.

I believe that the News block will show everything in the Main block unless you have entered something in the Summery block at which time it should just show that until clicked then it will show the whole article.

Hope that is not to confusing…

Rick is bang on. Full body in the News Article which is the first textarea box and the summary that you'd like to see on the page display into the Summary Box.

Yes that does work very well. Thanks

If you ever run across a tutorial as to getting that to work "automatically" please let me know. I would love a code that extracts the first few lines or so and does this. The scenario would be that if a user has bypass validator rights and neglects to create the summary section (as I did, lol…never even saw that) they wouldn't necessarily fill the front page inadvertently.

Thanks again!
