Well-settled

Can't post a topic

Long time no visit…..:)

I started a new site (with Ducks new amazing DarkMarshall theme) using version 7.1.6
Anyways I am having problems with the forums.
I can add new forums but when trying to add a new topic I keep getting this error

PHP WARNING [2] Division by zero in sources/ocf_topicview.php on line 36 (version: 7.1.6, PHP version: 5.3.8, URL: /forum/index.php?page=topicview&type=findpost&id=8&redirecte
d=1)

Any ideas as to why or how to fix this error?
Thanks
Gerald

Yes, don't set the max posts/topics options to zero.

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

A few people have done this, did you do it manually, or was it maybe an importer? Maybe some other forum uses 0 as some kind of convention?

Well, I when I initially did the setup i never added the ocf_forum because I wasn't going to use it.
Then changed my mind and added it through the Addons.
So I guess doing it that way sets those values to 0 ?
Actually most of the values were set to 0 in the> Member and forum options under the configuration:
-Maximum member title length
-Post view-history memory
-Posts per page
-Topics per page
-Hot topic definition
-Minimum password length
-Maximum password length
-Minimum username length
-Maximum username length
All of these were set to 0
If that helps  ;)

It does, thanks! Sounds like a complex bug.
