Hi,

It is possible in OCP to restrict the ability to create new posts in a forum unless the user has a certain amount of points or has reached a certain post count ?

I looked at the points system but could not see how you could buy access to a particular forum area.

The thought is that we want to restrict the classified section of the forum to allow anyone to view, but only allow people to make posts when they have demonstrated and given commitment to the club, ie via post contribution or points gained.

Cheers,
Ade

I think the way we would be able to achieve this is by the groups secondary feature.

Every group can view the classifieds, but then we have another group set up where users with xxx amount of posts are automatically added to when there post count hits that amount, with this group having the permission to post in this area. ?

Actually scrap that idea, I can`t seem to find an option promotion to a user group based on post count, it all seems to be related to the point system

Hi Mark,
Yes it appears that you can only do it for the points system, I just missed the Rank area where you can be promoted to a new group based on points earned.
I think doing it off points will be fine, we just need to get the points balance right.
Cheers,
Ade
