Now running on iis8.5 with php 7.0.7 and getting this error

A source code file is missing/corrupt/incompatible: firephp (sources/firephp.php or an overridden equivalent to this path) (version: 9.0.26, PHP version: 7.0.7, URL: /adminzone/index.php?page=admin_ipban&type=actual)

First problem I've found in ocPortal although I've had to modify one of my own miniblocks.

Any ideas what to do?

TQ

Hi,

This confuses me, as I can't reproduce any issue in the file on this PHP version or find a compatibility issue in PHPStorm's readiness check, but at the same time it's old third-party code that we don't scan for the same coding standards as the rest of ocPortal.

Where does it happen?

Can I get access to the new server?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for responding.

I caused it by trying to add an IP to the

Admin Zone> Banned IP Addresses> Add new IP to> Save>

Strange thing is, if you go back & check, it does add the IP.

Had the same issue with a miniblock when I changed mysql_real_escape_string() to mysqli_real_escape_string() to try and get it working ... same error. I removed it in my case as the miniblock is in my own (non-public) admin zone and I already have other string cleaning going on.

If you visit via your site account, that still in place. For FTP etc. I'll create it now and PM you.

Tnx

TQ

Ok, I finally fixed it.

This was incredibly complicated :S.

Didn't help that PhpStorm's PHP7 readiness check didn't actually cover this case of a deprecated feature.

Even though we suppress them, PHP7 deprecated errors came up if code with deprecated functionality was loaded up while another error was happening (the error you fixed). This is due to some real complexities within PHP's error handling. I added some notes to the PHP manual as it's such a confusing set of undocumented conditions.

Here's a test case for my future reference if I need it:

Code

<?php

error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED);
ini_set('track_errors', '1');
$php_errormsg = '';

set_error_handler(function($errno, $errstr, $errfile, $errline) {
   echo 'In error handler with ' . $errstr . "\n";

   if ($errno == E_DEPRECATED) {
      return true; // Should suppress $php_errormsg being set
   }

   eval('class foo { function foo() {} }');
   echo '$php_errormsg: ' . (($php_errormsg == '') ? 'None' : $php_errormsg) . "\n";
});

1 / 0; // Trigger an error
