In the configuration wizard after install. it would be nice to have a validation option. I am one who does not like to validate every thing but that is default.
I was not aware of that tell recently, when I opened up ocpower which only uses ocPortal unlike my other site which uses both ocPortal and IPB so I did not have that problem with that site.
Any way what might make it easier is if it had a few validation options like this.
Do you want to have members validate calendar entries: answers can be yes or no.
Do you want to have members validate forum posts and topics: answer can be yes or no.
Do you want to have to validate your members image of the day: answers can be yes or no.
And so on.
this would make things easier for new commers an make ocPortal even better then it is now not to mention more user friendly.
I should mention with those settings set as yes it would set the permissions for all groups acordingly.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

You can change your permissions to allow users who submit content to have them automatically added. I believe it's in "Security" > "Specific Permissions" somewhere.

Hmm that looks more like permission though then validations.

Yes; you give people permission to bypass validation.

They're the first three permissions in the "Global specific-permissions" interface in the "Submission" section, labelled "Bypass validator for some-range content". :)

You know that might be good to put on the setup wizard.
Another sugestion on that page on move them further apart so its easy to read. I mean they are really close together.
