I recall talk before about this being integrated into OCP.   Just wondering if it is and I just can't find it, or if it's still the external 'facebook' module that so many had problems with in the past.

Would like to add it all in if it's still included, but went through add-in's and didn't see anything of the sort.

Well-settled

It is not a bundled addon, but it is listed in the addon download area on this site

Facebook Support - ocPortal.com

I am thinking about using this eventually, but I need to clarify a few things with regards to existing user logins, before am ready to use it.

Yeah, I think that's the one I tried in the past and never managed to get it to work (at least in terms of the FB logon).

Hey Arbo, if you are interested,  I have written a tutorial as a guide with enough details I hope to alleviate the apprehension of a malfunction. I've installed it on several versions 8 and 9 test websites and the FB logon works perfectly.

Take a look at the complete tutorial on the Community Docs.

That works.   Thanks.   Well for me, not sure how it syncs other users to their FB account.

Seems main_facebook_friends doesn't work either… and _like is questionable as it pops open a window to add a comment, but probably due to css setup, you can't get to the submit button in that little window as it's hidden.

An interesting thing I noticed with the facebook addon installed, in 'your profile'  there is an entry to the users Facebook page.   But the formatting is off,  the image is missing, and you can see the error at the bottom about recomend/facebook image missing.   Not sure if the 'missing' image is what is supposed to be in the profile or not.  I don't have the 'recommend' addon in, so not sure why it would be looking for some sort of recomend/facebook image.

Image attached.

Another formatting issue with the FB add-on, this time in page_top if you are not currently logged in, or are a guest viewing the OCF...

This latest one seems to be some sort of css/layout problem.  It appears to come from off_guest_bar.tpl

You can see the code that checks to see if fb is installed:

Code

<div class="toggleable_tray">
<div class="ocf_information_bar float_surrounder">
<div class="ocf_guest_column ocf_guest_column_a">
<form title="{!_LOGIN}" onsubmit="if (check_field_for_blankness(this.elements['login_username'],event)) { disable_button_just_clicked(this); return true; } return false;" action="{LOGIN_URL*}" method="post" class="autocomplete inline">
<div>
<div class="accessibility_hidden"><label for="member_bar_login_username">{!USERNAME}{+START,IF,{$AND,{$OCF},{$CONFIG_OPTION,one_per_email_address}}} / {!EMAIL_ADDRESS}{+END}</label></div>
<div class="accessibility_hidden"><label for="member_bar_s_password">{!PASSWORD}</label></div>
<input accesskey="l" size="15" type="text" onfocus="if (this.value=='{!USERNAME;}'){ this.value=''; password.value=''; }" value="{!USERNAME}" id="member_bar_login_username" name="login_username" />
<input size="15" type="password" value="password" name="password" id="member_bar_s_password" />
<label for="remember">{!REMEMBER_ME}</label> <input {+START,IF,{$CONFIG_OPTION,remember_me_by_default}}checked="checked" {+END}{+START,IF,{$NOT,{$CONFIG_OPTION,remember_me_by_default}}}onclick="if (this.checked) { var t=this; window.fauxmodal_confirm('{!REMEMBER_ME_COOKIE;}',function(answer) { if (!answer) { .checked=false; } }); }" {+END}type="checkbox" value="1" id="remember" name="remember" />
<input class="button_pageitem" type="submit" value="{!_LOGIN}" />

{+START,IF_EMPTY,{$FB_CONNECT_UID}}
{+START,IF_NON_EMPTY,{$CONFIG_OPTION,facebook_appid}}
<div class="fb-login-button" data-scope="email,user_birthday"></div>
{+END}
{+END}
<ul class="horizontal_links associated_links_block_group horiz_field_sep">
<li><a href="{JOIN_URL*}">{!_JOIN}</a></li>
<li><a onclick="return open_link_as_overlay(this);" rel="nofollow" href="{FULL_LOGIN_URL*}" title="{!MORE}: {!_LOGIN}">{!MORE}</a></li>
</ul>
</div>
</form>
</div>
{+START,IF,{$ADDON_INSTALLED,search}}{+START,IF,{$HAS_ACTUAL_PAGE_ACCESS,search}}
<div class="ocf_guest_column ocf_guest_column_b">
{+START,INCLUDE,MEMBER_BAR_SEARCH}{+END}
</div>
{+END}{+END}
</div>
</div>
But not sure why the alignment is off based on this.

I've made some tests using the Facebook Blocks and this is the result:

I've first created a 'fan page' for this test site and saved its ID #

Everything seems to work as intended, except for a minor glitch as you mentioned Arbo, concerning the hidden submit button for the like block. When this block is placed above another block, it will expand correctly, but not if it is the last one. There is a problem with the iFrame not expanding beyond the "global_middle" class id.

See following image for details:

I hope you will find this useful.

Jean, I added a FB icon, so that image was missing.   I still don't understand why the formatting on the 'your profile' page is wrong though, since the |'s don't line up.

Will look into the other stuff.

The overflow hidden usage in our CSS (used for containing floats) will be breaking this. The comments feature can't be disabled unless you use the Facebook 'iframe' method for embedding like buttons (old-school). So, this is a bug on Facebook's end (a bad assumption that you can flow outside the central space). I'm going to raise a bug with them.
