Just wondering if there was an easy way to export all of the emails and names from the Newsletter subscriptions. Seems my domain is not being accepted by many domains so the newsletters are not getting to where they need to go. I want to pull all of the subscribers out and add them to my aweber account as they guarantee a very high delivery rate and seem to be the industry standard.

If you have phpMyAdmin on your web hosting control panel (you almost certainly will), you can use it to save a CSV file from a database table. The database table is 'ocp2_newsletter_subscribe'.
Once you have the CSV file you can use MS Excel (or various other spreadsheet packages) to clean up the data as you like  (e.g. remove the unneeded columns).
I don't know anything about aweber, but it probably can either take a CSV file as input.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks Chris,

I do have phpMyAdmin and aweber does accept csv files. The table name is just what I needed.

As to aweber, you or anyone else can check it out at www.aweber.com Their sole purpose in life is delivering newsletters and Auto responders, they claim over 98% deliverability rate, so if you have a critical need for delivery I would highly recommend it. It seems now days that if you send out bulk mail of over 20 or 30 people on a list most ISP's will black list you. Aweber spends most of their time actively ensuring that they stay white listed, they are the industry standard.

P.S I have no connection or affiliation to Aweber, just done a lot of research and found them to be the best at what they do.

Anyway, thanks again Chris for your time,
