Just installed ocPortal on CentOS 6.5. Install was a bit of a hassle, but i'm up and running. problem is, in some modules i get errors/stack traces. Looks database-related.  Here's an example when I try to simply log in as admin:

Failed on query: SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT the_zone,the_page) FROM ocp_comcode_pages WHERE the_zone<>'!' [Expected ) but got , at token 6] (version: 9.0.11, PHP version: 5.3.3, URL: /portal/cms/index.php?page=login&type=login)

I'm using the ocPortal internal database.  Can I use, say, MySQL?  Might that solve the problem?

Help.

The internal database is only for programmers, and I can see this is definitely a bug in it.

You are probably missing the PHP MySQL/MySQLi extensions off the server. You'll need to reinstall with these.

Also, I never saw an option to choose MySQL as the database back end during installation.  The installation doc doesn't seem to cover it.  Or, did I miss something?

I did give the specific names, but different Linux distributions will package them differently.

The installer can only provide a MySQL option if a MySQL PHP extension is installed.
