What's the solution to this Error Message?

I'm in gallery and I'm having difficulty
adding a video.

The two options of either a link or
upload from PC aren't working.

This is what I'm getting when I upload
video file from PC:

It appears that you have made a file upload but exceeded this servers 'post_max_size' limit. Unfortunately this renders your form submission invisible to the software. Please try again with a smaller size, or get the post_max_size limit increased. An alternate explanation is if you reached this URL manually - this URL is intended solely for processing the result of a form submitted to it, and the cat parameter is missing.

Your feedback & help is appreciated!

Oh, I did go and increase the size rules
to like 20,000. The video is like 20 MB.

Personally I would be wary about uploading anything over about 10MB over the Internet using a form, as things have a nasty habit of going wrong like that (the smallest connection glitch can break the transfer).

I want to help you upgrade your site to the latest version soon (for free), because you've had a few bugs that I want to help you get fixed, and because there were a couple of minor bugs in the eCommerce support, and I also want to test the eCommerce support for you a bit more. Could you start a personal topic with me about this if you'd like that (I'll need FTP access). I can review your PHP settings at the same time.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
