Fan in training

From the home page when I try to add a topic in the active topics box I get the error

A Critical Parameter ,id, was missing.

Also can someone tell me how to give super-members access to the HTML button when posting in the forums ?

Help please !

This is a bug, and is caused by a non-existent forum name being referenced in the main parameter to the main_forum_topics block. We'll get that fixed, but you should be able to workaround via changing to an existing forum.

The 'html' button not showing up is arguably a bug too. It's only shown if the member has 'Use dangerous Comcode' permission but should really show if they have just the 'Subject to a more liberal HTML filter' permission.
Again though, you are probably ok to turn on 'Use dangerous Comcode' for super-members if you can trust them.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
