An error occurs when adding a new category to forum

 Hi all, can anyone explain to me why when i add a new category to the forum and when i went over to edit it by clicking the [Edit Forum category], the dropdown list appears to have 2 similar categories of what i have created? Please view the attachment for more information.

Also, if i choose one of the 2 similar categories from the dropdown list and tick the [Delete] section, it prompt me with this error as shown below

Code

[b]Fatal error[/b]: Call to undefined method database_driver::query_value_value_null_ok() in [b]C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\ocPortal\sources\ocf_forums_action.php[/b] on line [b]65[/b]
Great help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Note: What i did to remove the category, is to go to the database and delete the record from ocp2_f_categories table. I dont think this way is appropriate, am i right to say so?

Hi,

I think the doubling up thing would be caused by accidentally submitting the add-form twice.

However, the second problem is a bug:
ocPortal - Entry: Error deleting forum category
(this one must have been around for a long time - I'm surprised nobody has found it until now!)

The manual deletion you did won't have caused any harm.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

To Chris, i think is because noboby actually try to delete any of the category in the forum, not because no one has found it :p and regarding the issue for the 2 similar categories, i'm sure that i didn't submit the form twice, well, i can re-create the category again to see if such problem still occurs. Thanks once again.
