When I attempt to create a quiz, I get the error below.  Since it's complaining about a missing field, it would seem to me that my db is out of sync with the software version.  Please advise.

Unfortunately a query has failed [INSERT INTO ocpo_quizzes (q_name, q_timeout, q_start_text, q_end_text, q_end_text_fail, q_notes, q_percentage, q_open_time, q_close_time, q_num_winners, q_redo_time, q_type, q_validated, q_submitter, q_add_date, q_points_for_passing, q_tied_newsletter) VALUES (24717, NULL, 24718, 24719, 24720, '', 70, 1291526460, NULL, 0, 96, 'TEST', 1, 2, 1291526580, 15, NULL)] [Unknown column 'q_end_text_fail' in 'field list'] (version: 5.0.3, PHP version: 5.2.14, URL: /cms/index.php?page=cms_quiz&type=_ad)

I believe this field was added for ocPortal 5. The module should have upgraded itself or upgraded in the upgrader. You can reinstall quizzes from the Admin Zone. Admin Zone > Setup > Addons > Module Management > Site zone > Reinstall icon by the quiz module.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
