I am getting the following error after I select the CSS file I want to edit (global.css in my case but it happens with any CSS file):

Code

An error has occurred

PHP WARNING [2] filesize() [<a href='http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.filesize.php'>function.filesize.php</a>]: stat failed for /home/xxxxxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxxxx/themes/JulianRitterCentral/css_custom/catalogues.css.BU in adminzone/pages/modules/admin_themes.php on line 862 (version: 7.1.5, PHP version: 5.2.17, URL: /adminzone/admin_themes/edit_css.htm?theme=JulianRitterCentral&file=catalogues.css)

Expand: Stack trace: Stack trace:

Finally, there is this message:

Code

An error occurred when loading this screen onto the web browser. You are being notified of this as you are staff. If you believe this is a bug in the website software, please contact ocProducts with full details. More details are available in your browser's error console. The error was:

5: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'parentNode' of null
http://www.julianrittercentral.com/data/editarea/edit_area_full.js

This happens in both Mac Safari and Chrome.

Thanks for any help.

I think this is a bad assumption in the code. I think you have a "catalogues.css.BU.something" file, and it only expects one dot. Try removing it, or removing the second dot.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Yep - that seems to have fixed it. Guess I need to be more careful when making backup files when working in a test editor.
