I am sure that I am overlooking it but I have searched all over and can't find this. I am trying to find out where all the templates are for the emails that are sent out by the system. Such as the Join XXXXX site (both their join and the validation join emails), and any other emails sent out by the system. I would like to edit some of the content to some of them with a welcome and maybe a brief overview of the site etc.

I think I am starting to get the hang of this system, there are still a lot of little dark corners that I have not checked out yet but I am getting more and more impressed every day. I really don't know why there is so little out there on this system, I have tried just about every portal system, site builder, etc. and to my mind none of the even come within a mile of this. Keep up the good work.

Hi,

Most of these are done via language strings, written in Comcode. I'd suggest using ocPortal's language module (located in the Admin Zone, in the 'Style' section). Either use the search feature there, or look in the 'ocf' language file (in the case of the join mails) and use the browser's find feature.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

As always thanks Chris, Part of this site that I am working on is for helping to build one of my businesses. So if I can get this thing off the ground and start making some money off of it then i will see about setting up a monthly PayPal subscription to help the cause. Wish I could do it now but don't have a lot of ready cash. So keep your fingers crossed and keep up the good work.
