I noticed that when I go to edit a post on a new topic I started I cannot edit the description. Where I would have had the description field it is replaced by the editing reason. I misspelled something in my description and wanted to edit it but I can (well not via the forum edit interface anyway I suppose I could track it down in the DB)

Well, I just tried it out and Duck's right. I think it can be done in the database, but it will be "fun" tracking down which one you want to change.

Maybe a future version of ocP can have editable descriptions?

Sure you can :). You need to edit the topic, not the first post.

IIRC if you go to edit the first post it also tells you to you can edit the topic too, as this was a common point of confusion.

OK I found it.

The method to edit the topic is in:

Control functions: Topic/poll actions:

Just select Edit Topic in that drop down and you can edit the topic title and description.

You can't reach it from editing first post, and sorry Chris, there's nothing in editing first post that tells you you can edit the topic too. But hey, at least there is a way to do this!
