Hi,

I would like to give certain groups and/or users permission to edit a select few of the sites pages.

I cannot for the life of me see how I can achieve it.

The zone I am using is the Collaboration Zone, I have created a child page and made one of my users who is in super-members group the Owner of the page.

However when the page renders it says:

Sorry, xxxx does not have access to use the 'block' Comcode tag (usage blocked).

There is nothing on the page accept the default title and child page block.

What am I missing ?

Cheers
Ade

Ok,so I have found that this is error is related to the ability to run potentially dangerous comcode.
Also found the post that is asking for different people to be able to edit pages depending on the zone.

I think the best thing for me to do is to link to a wiki page as that allows people in a certain group to manipulate wiki pages.

However on my site I cannot edit the wiki+ permissions for anything except viewing :-( I will raise a defect to get it looked at.

I'll remove the default inclusion of the main_comcode_page_children block for users without the comcode_dangerous privilege, however, as that is a bit silly.

I should note that in theory users can be allowed to use certain blocks, via the non-bundled ocWhitelist addon. I don't think I've tested for allowing blocks, but I think it'd work.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
