Code

Extended menu

Thats the code I am trying to use and it does work in IPB but in ocPortal it just refresches the page and I have changed it to this:

Code

Extended menu

And it still only refreshes the page.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

This code basically just calls up some custom Javascript, which is probably a part of Invision Board itself -- so that Javascript is missing.

Ah now I feel stupid I will look for the javascript ipb is using.
Found its using

Code

Where would I put that in ocPortal?
I know I would change the src but thats not to hard, just need to know were to put it.
Thanks.

You'd put this in the HEADER template underneath:

Code

{$JS_TEMPCODE}

However, it might not be as simple as that. Stuff in this Javascript file very likely depends on stuff in other IPB Javascript files.
Then it's possible that IPB Javascript files could conflict with ocPortal's, if any of the same function names or leeching-techniques exist within both.

You can make drop downs using the ocPortal menu block. This is for a Comcode page (probably you don't have a panel_top page, but this is where one might put it):

Code

[block="my_dropdown_menu" type="dropdown"]side_stored_menu[/block]
This is for a template:

Code

{$BLOCK,block=side_stored_menu,param=my_dropdown_menu,type=dropdown}

Hmm this is not working I put it into the new 3.2 for a test and it just puts it on top of the zone menu but it pushes every thing way down. :'(

It seems to be okay if the menu specified exists. If it doesn't, yeah it is pushing it down with an error message. That's an annoying CSS thing called "margin collapsing".

I deleted that css and it does not put the different menus side by side it puts them down and when I click on the menu I want to drop down the links I put below it do not show up.
Here is an example of a drop down menu that I would like. DMAPI.Menu - JavaScript Menu

It's going across when I look at it now. Am I misunderstanding, or is something different on your site?

I didn't actually change any CSS there, it's all the default stuff. Closed it just looks the same minus whatever was open.

oh so I looked at it wrong and still is not a drop down menu.
So the only difference between yours in mine was yours showed the lower menu mine did not.
If today stops being so busy I might have a chance to try it again.
BTW thats a drop over menu not a drop down menu like I want, well if I am looking at it correctly any way.

Yes those are also menus. For clarity my Comcode was:

Code

[block="test" type="dropdown"]side_stored_menu[/block]
(I tested this within a Comcode page, although I appreciate that that isn't usually a good place to actually put a menu).

Initially my menu named "test" did not exist so I created it in the menu editor. There are three levels to this menu, visually and structurally.

will that still work in the top template? I basically want a mix of drop down and non drop down menus like I have with IPB.
Main reason is some members are having trouble seeing the full menu as it too long on top. In other words to many links on top.
