I was wondering if there is a way to add a drop down box that lists all new and unread posts.  My forum is normally on Simple press with Wordpress but I'm hoping my members would move over to this software, but they badly need their favourite drop down box...lol

Is there a way to do it??

You already have the feature. I think it is a matter of getting your users familiar with what the forum software has to offer. Not necessarily an 'easy' task, but essential if you want to switch …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

I'm helping shazie convert over from Wordpress. Given that I want to ensure that ocPortal can be as smooth as whatever people are using on Wordpress (with the extra benefit of our other features of course), I'll take a look to see if I can match the benefits of this (I've not seen such a feature before). But first I have to finish overhauling the Wordpress import and some other back-log on my to-do list ;).

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I'll make some of the vforums in an overlay. That'll be a nice feature actually, as people have often got confused about the navigation when clicking on those.
It won't be the same as the feature above, but it'll achieve the same thing – easy finding of new or recently read topics, without having to navigate away immediately.
