...on by default

Instead of a viewer selecting the option to view downloads in a 'Detailed Listing Mode', is there a way I can have this enabled by default ('concise listing mode' is currently the default)?

I know there's a topic about this somewhere with a solution in. It requires code changes.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I'm not surprised in hindsight, it's an old topic…

Whoops. I've moved the topic, try now. (It was in our old customer-only support forum, for version 2.1)

Umm Chris: This edit is obviously for an earlier version of ocPortal, am I wrong? I see where // Mode Switching is, but everything below that is completely different.

I'm assuming following the steps in that post (even if the lines existed, in which they don't) could lead to some issues?

I wouldn't know without having to go through the process myself to be honest.
The gist of it is the same, it's still done via the cookie.

First of all, I couldn't find the instance in the first edit step (the one for sources/downloads.php).

Also, when I make necessary edits to all other files and upload them, I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/public_html/sources/users.php on line 1

Post edited to correct first problem. However I think the parse error was due to a failed upload, not an error in the code change.
