Disabling user registration

First of all, hello every one. I am really happy to find OcPortal. Its an amazing product. I know its a CMS (very powerful one), but I wanted to use it like a CMS where I am the only user i.e I don't want any other user. So I want to disable user registration completely and even remove the log-in box from the front page. Any idea about it guys?

I am hell bent on using ocPortal because its such a whole some package. I need gallery, download manager and the advanced editing features it offers. Please help me out guys.

When you install ocPortal, there's an option to install it with 'no forums or members'. Choose this, and the only account that will be created will be that of the Administrator.

Flash88 I also wanted to eliminate the members module- and I also eliminated the Forum module too. I don't know if you want to go that far but FYI read these Topics below about my experiences. I finally went back and reinstalled with members and Forums.

Here they are:

Can I install ocPortal without the member and forum parts?
Where did my buddy test go?
No Forum-No Members but need a guestbook.
Forward on - Retreat and Charge!

All the best with which ever installation setup you go with.

Thanks for the all the information.I guess ocPortal's forum would be just fine, as I do want Feedback and guestbook. And about limiting user registration, probably I would do that by removing the log-in box.

Another way to go may be the 'invites enabled' option in adminzone>setup>configuration>member and forum options.

Then people can not join your site unless they are invited to.

@Brian: Thanks a lot. But I am still unable to figure out how to disable the Log-in block at the home page?

In the left panel? When you are logged in as admin look at the bottom of the panel and click the link to edit it in zone editor. There you can ad or remove blocks from it.

Thanks again Brian, I removed the block from the Welcome zone and it was done.

I have another small question, a little off-topic though, Does ocPortal contain any flash player to play the audio/video in the gallery or it relies on the codecs installed on the client PC? I am asking this because I added a MP3 file in the gallery, but when I checked it, It was using quicktime player in firefox and windows media player in IE. I would love to use a standard flash player instead of these players.

Probably the easiest way would be to fiddle with sources/mime_types.php. Edit it to change 'mp3'=>'video/x-flv' instead of 'mp3'=>'audio/x-mpeg'. That'll force it to go through the jwplayer template.

Thanks Chris. Fixed it using your solution. There's a small cosmetic problem. Even though I specified the length of track in seconds, the details tab of gallery is stuck at 7 seconds (The player also doesn't show the length I specified while adding the media to the gallery).
Though there is playback and sound One can't drag because the start says 0:00 and the end as well says 0:00
Any suggestions?

Not sure why the gallery itself is saying a number of seconds, as it's the "video" in it that would have the duration.
As for the player itself, indeed jwplayer isn't being passed the duration. jwplayer seems not to be able to detect the length right in this case.
I've attached a new version of the template that passes the duration through.

Upon uploading the attached file, and loading the gallery page I received three errors saying:

A parameter, LENGTH, is referenced in the template, GALLERY_VIDEO_FLV, but not passed
and the player still didnt get the time. possible because the length was never passed

That would explain why we weren't using the length  . Does this help? It should cause it to be passed in. I'm assuming you're on 5.0.2.
