This would show the shoutbox for groups 1-4.

Code

[if_in_group="1,2,3,4"][block]side_shoutbox[/block][/if_in_group]

You'd put it in the panel where you want the shoutbox to be displayed. Typically, this is the panel_right page in your chosen zone.

I am confused

I was refering to the existing shoutbox that exist on the default install.  How can you please give me a full example of how to allow and block Regular user group?

Thanks

Phil

Click the 'Edit page' link underneath the panel where the sidebox is showing. You'll get an editor. Assuming the shoutbox is in the right-hand panel, you'd click the 'Edit' tab for the right hand panel. You'd then see some Comcode, and in particular you would see this within it:

Code

[block]side_shoutbox[/block]

If you want the shoutbox to show for every group except group 9, you'd replace it with this Comcode…

Code

[if_in_group="1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8"][block]side_shoutbox[/block][/if_in_group]
(I'm assuming there you don't have any other usergroups above 9).

If you want to show for only group 9 you'd replace it with this Comcode…

Code

[if_in_group="9"][block]side_shoutbox[/block][/if_in_group]
