I am trying to create a couple of Custom Profile Fields in a list format. The function seems to work great except for one problem, I need the list to stay in the same order that I put them in, in the default value. But when I go to look at the results on the site it keeps rearranging them in Alphabetical order. If I wanted them in alphabetical order I would have input them in alphabetical order when I added them into the Default Value. Is there any way to stop the site from alphabetizing the lists.

Thanks again,

Rick Henson

That's a reasonable point. Please remove line 204 of sources/ocf_members_action.php, which is:

Code

               asort($_value);

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Chris,

Your the man, thanks again that worked great!

Suggestion: maybe you could put an option "Alphabetize List" that you could check or uncheck in the Custom Profile setup. Just a thought.
