Creating custom fields for account sign up

I have a question about the initial account signup page and adding a few custom fields. I need to add several fields to the registration/signup page, and have the account approved by an administrator - not automatically.

I've added the "CPF" Custom Profile Fields that were needed (text lines, text boxes, check box fields) but I can't seem to get any of them to show on the registration/join page.

All of the options are set to "YES" (Owner Viewable, Owner Settable, Publicly Viewable, Required Field). What else is necessary for these fields to show?

I have another method that I can use for the extra fields, but it's a third party script and if I can make the necessary adjustments to ocP, so much the better.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

To be more specific, there are four text lines (ex. name, email, etc.), two text boxes (ex. about us), and nine check box fields.

There is also one text box for Administrator use only, which will not show.

Does the sort order need to be consecutive, i.e. no skipped numbers?

Hi Everyone,
Wanted to continue this thread with more info, hoping for a response. I've exchanged personal messages a couple of members but haven't resolved the issue.

I simply want to add several fields to the "Join - Registration" page. This is a very important requirement, but I am having major troubles.

I included a couple of screenshots in case they might help.

Adding the Custom Profile Fields seems fine, and I can edit the names and descriptions too…I just can't figure out how to get them to appear. Here are the CPF's I've added:

I want them to show them on this page:

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

I read there might be an add-on for the custom profile fields?

Thanks in advance for any help.

In friendship,

From what you posted, it looks like you did it right. All I can think without seeing the exact CPF settings (or analysing the code) is that maybe you set the CPFs to only apply to certain usergroups, which are non-applicable to that signup form?
If not, showing the full CPF edit form would help.

Hi Chris,
I went through every field, and highlighted ALL member groups for each one. Also went into the Tools and cleared all of the caches. No change.

Any ideas on what I might have missed?

Hi,

After looking at the source code I can find one possibility. If you have set up a multi-site-network, and this is not the central site, you need to set up CPFs on the central site. Maybe that is the case?
(and yes, I know it's confusing, MSNs are a bit of a rare situation so the usability isn't as well optimised as I would like)

If this is not it I'll need to take a look on the server.

Hi Chris,
This is not on a multiple-site network, and there are no satellite sites that pull data from this one.

I sent you an email. Thanks in advance.
