Hi,

I have used Ducks Raven Nuke 2.4 importer last night and all went well.

However this morning I am getting this error from my site:

Critical error – bailing out This is an error that has been elevated to critical error status because it occured during the primary error mechanism reporting system itself (possibly due to it occuring within the standard output framework). It may be masking a secondary error that occured before this, but was never output - if so, it is likely strongly related to this one, thus fixing this will fix the other. Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 87 bytes) [sources/database/mysql.php at 317]

So it looks like php is running out of memory - how can I free it up ?
Not too sure around php memory management - so hopefully this is not a dumb question.

The import brought in 7 years of posts and 23000 users

Cheers,
Adrian

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Oh, if it is choosing a news item to edit - that was fixed in the latest v7 release.

In fact I cannot get to the home page at all without this error happening.

The last thing that I did before this happened was to run the web cleanup tool

I thought that I might be able to edit the home page to take items off it, to try and discover what is causing the critical error. However when I try and edit the page I get the same critical error - help !!

It's hard for me to diagnose this because these memory errors bomb out without any context, but if you can post a bug report ticket with e.g. FTP details I can step through and track it down.

Add a new support ticket - ocPortal.com
